March & April Update

Spring is arriving!!!  With the weather turning warmer every day (ok, then spiraling backwards to snow and freezing), it is fun to see the boys play outside again!  In March we went to Christmas Mountain, Wisconsin Dells with our friends John and Kelly!  We had a blast swimming and water sliding at Mount Olympus! On March 31, 2011 there was another milestone reached.... Ben tied his shoes for the first time all by himself!  What a big boy!  Not to be outdone... Tommy quickly pointed out that he can put on his Velcro shoes all by himself too!  (gotta love brotherly competition!)  April brought Easter and more family time.  The boys were so handsome in their Easter suits!  Ben, sported a suit that was worn by his Uncle Jonny 15 years ago (very special!)  Tommy wore the same suit that Ben wore for Becky and Joe's wedding (SO CUTE!)  We celebrated with the Olson's and O'Reilly's, after a wonderful Easter meal, we had an Easter Egg hunt outside!  It was so nice out- the kids had a great time searching for eggs, playing at the playground, flying kites and playing baseball with Uncle Tony and Grandpa Steve!

January and February Update

January was a great month!  We took an Olson Family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells, Christmas Mountain!  We got to ski and swim and just relax and have a great time!  Ben got to go snow tubing for the first time- the first time he was a little scared...but as soon as he got to the bottom he loved it!  The next two hours were spent going up and down the run!  The cabin we stayed in was in a great location for "kid size" sledding right out the front door-  Ben, Tommy, Nora (and sometimes Jonny) would go down the hill over and over again!  So much fun!  January also brought about rambunctious kids (who isn't in the middle of winter) and, after one play session, Ben & Tommy bonked heads...resulting in a black eye for Ben (his first!)

February brought Tommy's THIRD birthday! We had a little party for him with several of his friends and then we  went up to Goodhue to have an impromptu sleepover party with Cousins Patrick and Nora! They have such a great time together- playing and sharing and lots of pancake and coffee making in Nora's play kitchen!  To help celebrate Tommy's birthday, Ben & Aunt Carrie made home made ice cream!   YUM!!!
