The Great Minnesota Get Together- 2009

As summer winds down and the air gets cooler- we wanted to share pictures of our trip to the Great Minnesota Get Together... The Minnesota State Fair!!

Ben and Jonny played hoops like the T-wolves...

while Tommy snuggled up to the Vikings Cheer Leaders!

Then it was off to Machinery Hill-every boy (and boys at heart) favorite place!

Ben and Tommy had to try out every tractor!

Ben, Tommy and mommy also rode on the very high gonda ride over the entire State Fair grounds- you really get a look at how many people are there!

While at the State Fair it is important to talk about all the food!

Jonny was kind enough to "share" his 2 foot long corndog (on a stick) with both nephews and his niece! (He had gone to get something to drink... it was just sitting there!!)

The boys also enjoyed some cotton candy--Grandpa enjoyed it too!!

We had so much fun at the fair...we can't wait for next year!

Vacation--Part Two--Wisconsin Dells, WI

After the family reuinon with the Helfer family, it was off to the Wisconsin Dells with the Olson's. We stayed at Christmas Mountain with the golf course in our back yard. (Ben even got to try out golfing on a real course!) We had a lot of fun swimming, mini-golfing and just relaxing.
John, Kris, Ben, Joe, Becky and Jonny went to Pirate's Cove to mini-golf there. It was pretty great...Ben got his second HOLE IN ONE! Way to go Ben!! The next two days were spent at Mt. Olympus Theme/Water park. Ben went on his first rollercoaster ride! (Then repeated it 5 more times!!!) Ben and Tommy had a great time on the go-carts. I don't think Tommy's could ever go fast enough for him!! The water park was great. The boys got to go down several water slides...but by far their favorite was the wave pool (Daddy's favorite too). The wave pool had waves that were 9 feet high!! We are now back at home....relaxing! We had so much fun spending time with both families.
